We have a parent council which is made up of a parent representative from each year group, Governors and members of Redwell Helping Hands (School's Parent Association).
We meet once a term to discuss school issues and share ideas. This is a really useful way for us to canvas for parent opinions, build even stronger relationships and make links within our wider community.
The role of the Parent Council representative
- approaching the parents in each year group for their opinions
- being approachable for other parents to discuss issues
- bringing the opinions to the meetings to discuss
- being open and responsive to other people’s ideas and comments
- sharing information from meetings with the other parents in each year group
- being a critical friend to the school
- linking with the Year group teachers to improve communication
- helping to move Redwell Primary School forward to make our school even better
- attending meetings
